End of Warranty & Periodic Inspection Reports

During the warranty period,  your boat may be subject to factory recalls and faulty items that require repairs, that you would generally raise at service, however things can get missed.

Having an independent assessment completed by boatcheck before your warranty ends just makes sense and is the best way to protect yourself against any hidden potential issues or defective items that you will be responsible for going forward if not addressed during the warranty period.

Or maybe you would just like a professional to check your boat periodically to ensure that you’re the owner of a safe and reliable boat.

Whatever your needs, we can provide you with a detailed, accurate and informative report.

When do vessels require a pre-purchase inspection?

When contemplating the purchase of a boat, whether through a private sale or via a broker/dealer, my advice is to insist on an independent vessel inspection during any sales process no matter how much you know about boats.

This inspection not only raises potential current and future issues, can work to assist you in  further negotiating purchase price or required repairs, but also aids in securing insurance & finance, and decide once you have all the facts if you want to proceed with the purchase

What steps should I take if my boat has been damaged?

Should your boat sustain damage, immediately reach out to your insurance provider to initiate the claims procedure. Usually, they’ll arrange for a surveyor or assessor to review the damage for them. However, if you’re interested in an independent evaluation of your boat’s damage or the repairs that are to be / have been undertaken to rectify this damage, contact Boatcheck.

A condition and valuation report is being requested by my insurance company.

Insurance companies will require you to provide a condition and valuation report every few years for older or specialised vessels or if you are insuring a vessel for the first time, these reports come in 2 forms:

  1. Insurance company provides you with a standard report form to get a marine surveyor to complete and sign off.
  2. The surveyor can compile a more thorough or detailed report using his own software.

Check with your insurer regarding their requirements and then contact Boatcheck.
